From Villard Laté in the center of the village, take the path on the right

This trail aims to discover the heritage of St. Chaffrey:
Chapels, canals, old mines ... on a vertical drop of 250 m with a slope
relatively large in the second third.

Lift Bridge over the river of St. Elizabeth: The "Chaffrelins"
have always installed a drawbridge (or up) to let the torrent
in case of flooding. This bridge dates back to 1925.
(2) The Church
: Dated 1536, it burned in 1720 and was restored. The steeple
Lombard is listed as a historic monument.
A little higher, right, a portal to 3 Vental wood was used as a bulwark
when the flood waters of St. Elizabeth.

La Chapelle Saint-Arnould: Also classified, it dates from 1111
(part of church). It contains frescoes. The old village was certainly

Irrigation canals are an existing landscape briançonnais since

At the intersection with Route du Serre, out to right under a pine tree, a

and we can always bake bread.

Le Chenaillet, un volcan oceanic fossils in the open air!
Heritage
ophiolitic massif is a fragment of Chenaillet
fossil of the ancient seabed slopes. In favor of thrusting,
a "scalp" ocean was transported and incorporated

• gabbros, igneous rocks,
• basalt volcanic rocks.
gabbros and basalts result from cooling magma merged

rocks (gabbro crystallized for, pasty for basalt) by the rate of cooling
: slow and deep to the gabbro, basalt for rapid
overflows in streams to the ocean floor. Sediments which were based on the seafloor
were stripped by erosion. We found some remains in
west of the massif, the rocks of the Partridge:
• These radiolarian, siliceous sediments resulting from the accumulation of radiolarian skeletons
(planktonic organisms),

recristallisés.

The fortified bastions of the establishment of Briançon consists of: •
Three main structures
• The Walled City: Vauban strengthened the defenses of the city 1692 following the invasion

Discovering strong altitude avec l'association
pour le Patrimoine Fortifié Briançonnais
Cette année, le dimanche 11 Juillet et le mercredi 18 Août 2010, l’APFB organise
la visite guidée et commentée du Fort de l'Olive. L’accès au Fort se fera de deux
façons :
•
Pour les bons marcheurs, à pied au départ de Plampinet, sous la conduite de
membres de l’association.
•
Pour les autres, l'accès se fera en voiture par la route militaire au départ du Col
du Granon, avec autorisation spéciale.
Pour les deux dates, RDV pour les marcheurs à 9h à Plampinet sur le parking près
Bridge Clarée. For others, 9:30 Meet at the parking lot at the summit of the Col
Granon.

Created in 1996 by the Geological and Mining Society of Briançon with the town of Puy
St Peter and the support of the Fondation de France, the garden (free admission)
aims to restore irrigation techniques Brianconnais since the Middle Ages
. Cultures "forgotten" were installed including hemp textiles. The garden varieties grown
domestic country-specific (potato black Casset,
beans, fava beans ...) and some medicinal plants. In addition, it offers the visitor
